Izzy Grey, Director

Izzy Grey, Director of Cheshire Hospitality, has been working in the industry for over 18 years.

I fell in love with the industry at a very young age when we would visit my grandparents in London - my grandfather who LOVED partying in London took great pleasure in taking all the family to the loveliest hotels and restaurants for long, lingering lunches - he was a real show off and a larger than life character, but all the staff who took care of us loved him and he certainly ignited my passion for food - and a little later on for drink, so much so that I would visit London on my own as soon as I was old enough, stopping off at the likes of Mezzo, Belgo Centraal and Atlantic whenever I got the chance.

As soon as I was 18 I started working behind the bar in Harkers, Chester for B&P - I absolutely loved it and as soon as I was 20 I was on my way to London to fulfil my desire to learn as much as I could about our incredible industry. It's true to say that wild horses wouldn't have stopped me and I was extremely lucky to have had an incredible career over a 10 year period including managing night clubs, private members clubs, hotels, golf clubs and was lucky enough to become Operations Director for the Style in the City Group where I was responsible for the management and financial performance of 13 bars located all over the country. It was an amazing time for me, I worked hard and played hard, and finally made it back to the North West in 2004 where I started freelance consultancy work for a number of venues including Upstairs at The Grill and Barlounge in Chester, Wro in West Kirby and a many other businesses on the Wirral including the beautiful Hillbark Hotel.

More recently I helped set up and launch Oddfellows Hotel Restaurant and Bar, and I am proud to continue to work with Ken and the team there to develop and grow the business now and for the future.

I have been involved in Operational Management, PR, Marketing and Recruitment over the years and am so pleased to have set up Cheshire Hospitality which I hope will be an effective and reliable tool to help us Manage, Develop and Staff our business for many years to come.
